Stella Nash
COMMUNITY LIASON
Stella Nash retired in January 2017 after 39 years with the USDA Food and Nutrition Service, where she served as Regional Nutrition Director for the Mountain Plains Regional Office, overseeing nutrition programs across 10 states and 30 Indian Tribal Organizations.
A Registered Dietitian, Stella earned her B.S. in Dietetics from the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, an M.S. in Nutrition Education from NYU, and completed her Dietetic Internship at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. She also studied Rural Sociology at Penn State University.
Notable achievements include representing the U.S. at the 2005 International Congress on Nutrition in South Africa, receiving the Rocky Mountain Eagle Award (2016) and Outstanding Dietitian of the Year by the Colorado Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (2016), and being honored for 50 years as a Registered Dietitian by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (2017).
Stella is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., since 1962, and was awarded the Irma Kelly Hudson Award for community service in 2018. She serves on the boards of LiveWell Colorado and Montbello 20/20, and remains active in volunteer work.
